Trauma counseling Eindhoven - therapeutic support with Trudy Schripsema

What is trauma counseling?

A trauma is a deeply disruptive experience that can affect your life long after the event. It can be a single shocking incident, such as an accident or an act of violence, or a long-term situation such as bullying, abuse, or sexual boundary violations. When the usual ways of coping fall short, symptoms can develop: flashbacks, sleep problems, irritability, anxiety, low mood, or the feeling of no longer being yourself.

Trauma counseling in Eindhoven with Trudy Schripsema means working with an experienced therapist in a safe and trusted environment on what happened to you. No rigid protocols, but tailored care, matched to your story, your pace and your goals.

Frequently asked questions about trauma counseling

How long does trauma counseling take?

This differs per person and depends on the nature of the trauma and your personal processing pace. Some clients notice a difference after a few sessions, others need a longer trajectory. During the intake conversation we discuss a realistic expectation together.

Is trauma therapy reimbursed?

Through the ZorgCoöperatie Brabant reimbursement is possible for WMO care. In addition, many supplementary Dutch health insurance plans reimburse treatment by NFG-registered therapists. Please contact me for the current options.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

You do not need a referral from your GP to come to my practice. You can contact me directly for a no-obligation intake conversation.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes, everything we discuss is covered by professional confidentiality. I work according to the guidelines of the NFG. Without your explicit consent, nothing is shared with third parties.

What if my trauma happened a long time ago?

Traumas do not have an expiry date. Whether the event happened last year or thirty years ago, processing is possible and meaningful at any time. Many clients only come to address it later in life; that is completely normal.

Can I also come for grief counseling?

Yes, alongside trauma I also support people through grief and loss. See the counseling page for a full overview of what I offer.
